I loaded up the 15 Versys on Thursday night. It was a bitter sweet moment as we have enjoyed many great miles on the Orange beauty. However that did not dampen my excitement for the new Versys. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I did not sleep very well on Thursday evening as the excitement was over whelming. I had wanted to ride the 15 to Plano and ride the new steed back to NW Arkansas, but the weather gods would have none of that. With snow and ice in the forecast, I decided it best to take her to the metroplex via my kendon trailer. With the bike loaded up I headed to the store on Friday Morning. I needed to work a half day. I was very productive as I did not want anything delaying my departure to Plano to get the new bike.

I got to Plano in time to take the bike over to Jason & AJ at Plano Kawasaki Suzuki. We unloaded the 15 and they were kind enough to let me leave my trailer at the shop, so I did not have to fight the traffic pulling a trailer.

We finished up the evening having dinner with our daughter, who is attending college at the University of North Texas. We had a great evening catching up. Sure miss having her around.

Saturday morning arrived and Jamie and I were excited and ready to go. We met some friends for breakfast before heading over to the dealership and signing the papers. We were against the clock as the weather was rolling in. We got everything together and I even got a short 10 mile ride in on the new bike before loading her up.

It was a short ride, but I will say that I was smiling from ear to ear. It is so smooth and so damn cool. I can’t wait to put more miles on her. The clouds brought me back to reality as the rain was coming. We loaded up the new Versys, taking our time, so we did not make a mistake that might cause any damage to the new bike. AJ & Jason were so good, they got me into the shop first thing so that they could get my GPS and heated gear mounted on the new bike. We did have a little scare as I had not taken into account all of the electronics under the seat. This left little room for the fuse block. The tech made it happen but it was a tight fit. I will post a few pics to show just how tight.

Once the bike was loaded up, I said my goodbyes and hit the road. It rained good on me and the new Versys for the first hour of our trip. The bike is now really dirty. It will be cleaned tomorrow as we bond and I learn more about her.

Now all we need is some good weather so I can get some miles on her. Let’s Ride.
