We got up on Saturday and headed down to breakfast. We were sitting around talking with a couple of the guys there and they were talking about this great road, that they were going to ride again today. They asked if we had rode it. I said no, they convinced me that we should do it and then loop around and do the skyway again. We thought about it and decided what the heck. The skyway was wonderful yesterday and if the roads going up there were as good as they said, why not? We are glad we decided to do that. We headed up 60 to Morgantown and then shot across GA 5, it then turned into 68. WOW !! what a nice road. Check out the sign for Ducktown. “it’s a quacking good town”

We stopped at this little store to get a drink. This is where I did the most bone headed thing I have done in awhile. I glance down at the bike and I think I see a little drip under the bike. I bend down and try to see what the liquid might be. I reached under the bike and then lifted my arm.. now lets see… 65 miles of tight twisty roads, with us riding as hard as we could + 90 degree temps and a nice hot connie engine can only equal one thing… HOT PIPES! well by the time I realized that… my upper forearm was on fire as I rested it against those hot pipes.. STUPID! I got a pretty good burn on my arm.

We stopped at Tellico Plains and fueled up before heading to the Skyway. My arm was throbbing so Jamie thought I need to get some medicine and bandage it up. Here is our make shift repair. it did not look pretty but it felt better than my jacket rubbing against it. You can tell it was just a tad humid out by the sweat on my arm.

Now while we were fueling up and getting me patched up, a man walked up with his son. His son looked at us and just smiled. He then said this “I like your bikes, they are not so loud!” There happened to be a bunch of Harleys in the gas station and it was ear splitting. I will never understand how people who have that loud of pipes, can justify them. Loud pipes saves lifes they say.. I say BULLSHIT! The normal public just looks at them with disgust. Then when normal joe talks about motorcycle riders he throws all of us in one group.. the loud pipe guys. It just drives me nuts. Okay I will jump off my soapbox now.

The man with the child said we had to go check out Bald River Falls on the skyway. So we did. What a cool place. See for yourself.

We left the beautiful falls and heded down the skyway. I will not post more pictures of that. You can read about our first day on the skyway here. We stopped in Robbinsville where there were hundreds of bikes running around. I have a picture of the group of sport bikes just hanging out at Wendys. The last two pictures are on the way back to Atlanta. Our trip was coming to an end. Tomorrow we would load up the bikes and head out. We would be stopping by the Barbers Motorsport Museum before heading back to Dallas. Stay tuned for those pictures.

So Rob what do you think of those loud pipes? This picture made me laugh!
